The Dedicated Colleague Behind Lady Kombucha

Some families facing hardship live far away, and we are fortunate to have the opportunity to learn about their stories. But sometimes, the stories that touch us the most are much closer than we realize. They are the people who work alongside us every day, greet us each morning, and quietly carry burdens we never knew they bore.
Ms. Ly is one of the members of the Lady Kombucha family. Every day, she carefully prints and applies labels to each bottle of kombucha, washes and prepares fresh fruits and vegetables for every handcrafted batch. What few people know is that after work, she hurries home to care for her family and her four school-aged children.
Her youngest daughter, Minh Thư, is 10 years old and is currently in Grade 4. Thư was born with hearing impairment, but what inspires us most is not her disability—it is her determination. Despite the challenges she faces in learning and communicating, she continues to study with remarkable perseverance. Her teachers speak highly of her diligence and her eagerness to learn.
Life has never been easy for Ms. Ly’s family. She and her husband both work in manual labor jobs with unstable incomes while doing everything they can to support their four children through school. During particularly difficult times, they even head out to sea to fish offshore, hoping to earn a little extra income so their children can continue their education.
What touched us most was realizing that, despite being her colleagues, we had never known how many hardships her family had been quietly enduring. Perhaps it was because she always chose to wear a smile, worked diligently, and never once complained.
On the afternoon of July 22, 2026, the Lady Kombucha team visited Ms. Ly’s family at their small home in an alley on Nguyễn Chế Nghĩa Street, Đà Nẵng. Little Thư was shy, standing close behind her mother with a gentle smile and bright, curious eyes. Although she spoke very little, we could clearly feel her excitement and happiness as she received the gifts prepared especially for her.
On behalf of all the customers who have supported the Lady Kombucha Care program, we transformed the value of 1,825 returned empty glass bottles into gifts for Thư: a Thống Nhất bicycle, packs of yogurt, and a full set of Grade 5 textbooks to help her continue her educational journey with greater confidence.
From today onward, her new bicycle will help her get to school more easily, making each journey toward knowledge a little lighter while giving her greater confidence to make friends, learn, and grow with hope for the future.

Every bottle returned may seem like a small act, but together they become bicycles for children, new schoolbooks, and meaningful opportunities delivered directly into the hands of young lives that need encouragement the most.
